Travel & Entertainment
The U.S. Bank Visa Corporate Card is a university-sponsored card issued to UCSB employees who travel or entertain on behalf of the university and should be utilized for all travel and entertainment related expenses (airline tickets, hotel charges, car rental, meals, etc.). While the card should not be used for personal expenses, incidental personal use (e.g., stay at a hotel on business and rent a movie; the entire bill is charged to the Corporate Card) sometimes occurs and is allowed provided the user pays the bank directly for those expenses. However, blatant personal use (e.g., a shopping trip) is not allowed.
In general, departments should limit authorization for a Corporate Card to faculty, career (non-probationary) staff, and contract staff only. Student employees and limited status employees are not eligible for a Corporate Card.
Cardholders shall not charge other people's travel charges to their card. Cardholders are allowed to charge their department's entertainment to their card (e.g., catering charges for an event).
The goals of the program are to provide a source of credit to university travelers, convenient access to cash and reduction in the need for out of pocket expenses. This program also streamlines the university's reimbursement of expenses through direct payment to U.S. Bank Visa.
Travelers who have been issued corporate travel cards are strongly encouraged to use such cards whenever possible in order to reduce departmental and administrative costs associated with processing cash advances and pre-trip vendor payments.
The cardholder is solely responsible for timely payment of the charges incurred on the U.S. Bank Visa. It is the cardholder's responsibility to review their monthly statement and ensure that charges are legitimate and that payments are made. All travel should be reported promptly upon return so payments can be made in a timely manner. If the card must be paid before the trip is complete (e.g., conference registration paid months in advance) create a Corporate Card Pre-Payment report in On Line Travel Voucher.

There's no way for Amazon to know if the card is secured or not. It's a normal credit card you are just guaranteeing to BoA that you're good for the credit, by tucking away an equivalent amount. When your credit score increases you would apply to BoA to go unsecured but the card itself does not change when you do this
