Small but pertinent piece of advice. Save your money in a place that isn't gonna go out of business in 5 years. This bank is horrible.
First off, this is not a credit union yet it is small ( few locations). They hardly have any type of banking technology. They call an unreliable online banking site and an out dated text alert system ( which notifies you 5 times a day the balance you had last week), technology. They have no 24/7 hotline. No ATM deposit system. No incentives to sign up with them. In fact I had to pay 6 bucks/mo. for a regular checking account. Their rates on everything are bad. How much of an inconvenience this bank is pretty obvious within the first month. They boast about hospitality but that's because that is all they have to offer.
Apart from all this the worst thing about this bank is that they have contradicting policies. You won't get the same explanations, results or answers every time. Do not bank here trust me! So many better alternatives.

The move will mean a pay raise for almost 400 SSFCU employees, or about a fifth of its 1,900-person workforce based in Texas, Colorado and Utah.
SSFCU follows Live Oak-based Randolph-Brooks Federal Credit Union earlier this month raising its minimum wage to $18 an hour, up 20 percent from $15.
The minimum hourly wage at Frost Bank, the largest regional bank based in San Antonio, stands at $15.
The surge in COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations brought on by the delta variant has dampened job growth “particularly in high-contact industries” and contributed to the state’s tight labor market, Randolph air force base credit union Phillips, senior economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, said last week.
Even before their latest wage increases, both SSFCU and RBFCU significantly surpassed the federal minimum wage of $7.25 an hour.
The average wage for San Antonio workers was $23.81 an hour as of May of last year, the most recent figures compiled by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. That was below the national average of $27.07 an hour.
Most of the SSFCU employees who will benefit from the pay raise serve credit union members in branches and through its contact center, the credit union said.
BLS figures show bank tellers in Randolph air force base credit union Antonio earned $15.32 an hour, or about $31,860 a year, as of May 2020. Customer services representatives earned $16.77 an hour, or $34,870 a year.
SSFCU called its decision to increase wages an “industry leading move.”
“This move is about people, and how we enable our best and brightest talent to be successful at work and in life,” SSFCU CEO and President Jim Laffoon said in a statement. “This action sends a message to our employees that we not only value them, but that they are a key success factor in achieving randolph air force base credit union future we want for our company and for our members.”
SSFCU generated almost $59 million in net income in the first half of this year, up from nearly $20 million in the first half of last year. It has about 803,000 members and $10.2 billion in assets as of June 30.
RBFCU executives expect the pay increase they put in effect this month will help the credit union attract talented workers. It had more than 2,100 full-time employees as of June 30.
“This increase to $18 per hour is one investment RBFCU is making that ultimately shows how we care about our members,” RBFCU CEO and President Christopher O’Connor said. “By increasing starting pay 20 percent, we are confident the response will be even better levels of service by employees who know they are being competitively compensated.”
RBFCU posted $124.4 million in net income through June 30, up from about $30.1 million in the same period last year. It has about 975,000 members and had $13.9 billion in assets as of June 30.

“Receiving this recognition is a great honor for us because the Metrocom area is our home, said Sonya McDonald, RBFCU senior vice president of planning and market development. “Our credit union was founded at Randolph Air Force Base, and our leadership team consciously chose this community as the place to establish our corporate headquarters and expand our operations.
“Being selected as the 'Best of the Metrocom' means we're staying true to our roots and our goal of helping members save time, save money and earn money right here in our own backyard.”
RBFCU purchased 20 acres of land in December 2000 to accommodate construction of a new building to house administrative functions.
The credit union broke ground for the center in September 2002, randolph air force base credit union months after beginning its year-long 50th anniversary celebration.
On Feb. 8, 2004, the employee move-in began and, by Feb. 22, the center was open for business, marking a new phase for the credit union. Despite the move, RBFCU did not turn its back on “where it all began,” nor did it neglect any of the dozens of branches it had created over the years.

Natalie Tate, a RBFCU employee since 2009 and currently assistant vice president of public relations, was quick to offer just a brief glimpse into RBFCU's community involvement in just her four years with the credit union.
“Some of the most exciting things . in the past four years,” she said, “include reaching the milestone of 40 branches throughout South Central Texas, watching the construction of the addition to our corporate headquarters, celebrating 60 years of serving our members, and raising awareness and funds through the Healing Heroes Challenge, which helped to fund the construction of a therapeutic garden and rehabilitation area for Wounded Warriors and their families.”
McDonald added: “Our Shred Days that we have sponsored with the city of Live Oak have also been very well received by the community. We've seen rows upon rows of cars lined up to shred their documents and the local residents are really appreciative that we provide that service to help them, and the convenience of having a shredding option right here in their community.”
In March, RBFCU was recognized as one of the best places to work in the state. At the annual Best Companies to Work For in Texas gala, RBFCU was named the 19th ranked company among institutions with more than 500 employees. The credit union has been included on the Best Companies list for five consecutive years, and credits its continuing recognition to the focus on service to others, members and employees alike.

Randolph Brooks Federal Credit Union
RBFCU was founded September 1952 with nine members and $45 in deposits. The charter was approved on October 6, 1952 by the Bureau of Federal Credit Unions (the Federal governing body at the time). In August 1959, the field of membership was amended to include Brooks Air Force Base and on October 25, 1961, the credit union name changed from Randolph Federal Credit Union to Randolph-Brooks Federal Credit Union.
In 1995, the credit union merged with an Randolph air force base credit union institution, Central Texas Catholic Credit Union. RBFCU’s field of membership, as defined by the National Credit Union Administration, is select-group based, which means that membership is limited to individuals sharing a common bond. RBFCU currently offers membership to more than 2,000 select groups. Consumers can qualify for membership through a variety of ways, including where they live, work, worship or attend school.
As a credit union, RBFCU is a not-for-profit financial cooperative. It is owned by its members and governed by a volunteer board of directors, elected from its membership. RBFCU also operates several credit union service organizations. RBFCU has a history of strong military associations stemming from their roots serving the employees and Active Duty Air Force employees of Randolph Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.
RBFCU employs more than 1,600 people at its corporate headquarters in Live Oak, Texas and throughout the South Central Texas area, including credit union locations in San Antonio and Austin. RBFCU has been ranked among the Texas Monthly “Best Companies to Work for in Texas” for, and has also been listed as a San Antonio Express-News’ Top Workplace and as one of the San Antonio Business Journal’s “Best Places to Work.”
RBFCU offers many products and services in common with other financial institutions, including savings accounts, checking accounts, loan products and mobile technology. RBFCU was among the first financial institutions in the United States to release a remote deposit platform that allowed members to make deposits from their mobile devices.
RBFCU offers a cash back debit card program, which pays 10 cents cash back each time a user makes a purchase with the card. In 2011, the credit union received media attention for temporarily increasing debit card rewards to 15 cents per transaction.
Several other financial services companies specializes in serving parts of the military. The credit union competes with other military credit unions, like Pentagon Federal Credit Union and NavyArmy Federal Credit Union (which only serves parts of Texas), as well as with some large banks including USAA.
In 2012, RBFCU completed the construction of an addition to its new corporate headquarters, including the Randy M. Smith CUseum, which provides recountings of the credit union’s history and heritage through multiple media, including video, multimedia, art and sculpture.
