Walmart is rolling out three new delivery options designed to make holiday shopping a little easier.

Walmart is extending its delivery window by 2 hours, meaning drivers will be making deliveries from stores until 10 p.m. local time. This change allows customers to place orders up until 6 p.m. for same-day or next-day deliveries. More delivery time frames will also be available through the new Spark Driver app. The feature, called Shopping and Delivery, gives service providers the option to shop and deliver customers’ orders free up additional delivery times.

Customers can pay $7.95 - $9.95 for a one-time delivery and an additional $10 fee to get their order in two hours or less with Express delivery. Walmart Plus members have access to unlimited free deliveries all season long; they can receive Express deliveries by paying that fee.

Another change is the addition of oversized items to Walmart’s delivery services. The change allows oversized items, including things such as bicycles, TVs and artificial Christmas trees, to be delivered as soon as the same day.

Walmart stores will be closed Thanksgiving Day. Pickup and delivery from stores will operate as normal the day before Thanksgiving and will resume at noon the local time the day after.

If you’re more inclined to Christmas trees that are pine instead of plastic, then Walmart has something very, very special for you this holiday season.

For Christmas 2020, not only will Walmart deliver a tree of your choosing right to your door, but they’ll even hang your Christmas lights for you as well.

Plus, when it comes to those lights, Walmart isn’t only limiting options to hanging them off your tree. In partnership with Handy, Walmart will install holiday lights around single-story homes for $129 and two-story homes for $199. Additionally, should you be low on those twinkling strings, Walmart.com has plenty to choose form.

As Walmart said, just because the holiday season may look a bit different this year doesn’t mean it can’t still be just as bright.

"We understand the holiday season could look different this year," Walmart wrote in a blog post. "It may include staying home more than usual or never having to leave your neighborhood to see lit up homes."

Although the company is making it easier for families to enjoy the holidays, which fall on the backdrop of a resurging pandemic, the services come at a cost.

In most cases, the delivery is free. However, the price of the tree itself can range from $54 for a Real Douglas Fir tabletop tree to upward of $900 for an 8- to 9-foot Balsam Fir tree.

Christmas light installation for a single-story home will cost $129 and notch upward of $200 for a two-story home.

However, as the old adage goes, whatever goes up must eventually come down. Removing the lights costs an extra fee, ranging from $99 for a single home to $160 for a two-story home.
